Plus-Sized Spring Capsule Wardrobe
Note: I don't love the term "Plus-Sized". I also don't like the term "Curvy" because it implies that all ladies in slightly larger bodies have all the same shape. EVERYONE has a different shape, no matter what her weight! Due to this, I had a hard time naming this post, so I went with the easily understood "Plus-Sized".
Ok, let's get down to business. Spring is approaching very soon, and it's time to think about your Spring Capsule Wardrobe!
I want to dispel a capsule wardrobe myth about color.
You do not have to dress in all black, grey, and white to have a capsule wardrobe. Certainly, if you love and feel great in these colors, by all means make them the core of your wardrobe! But, if you are like me and love wearing color, too, you can and should include all of your favorite colors in your capsule wardrobe.
I have put together this Spring Capsule Wardrobe geared towards Plus-Sized lovely ladies. This feminime wardrobe with both work and weekend appropriate pieces incorporates shades of blue and peach, the perfect colors for Spring.
Take a look:
Over 1,000 outfits can be made from these 39 pieces. Seriously. While not every single item will work together for you, so many of them will. You will easily be able to take an outfit from work to weekend just by swapping out a jacket or pair of shoes.
Some notes on this capsule:
This beautiful spring trench will add a light pop of color to any outfit, whether work or play. Two contemporary blazers add polish to your look without being boring. A classic denim jacket is your go-to for kicking it over the weekend.
I may be biased, but I own the first two dresses, and I absolutely love them. The first one is surprisingly well-made and, despite the colorful geometric print, is quite professional. The second dress is a bit sheer (wear something under!) but is a perfect spring weight dress that can be dressed up with heels during the week and dressed down with booties over the weekend. The plaid and denim dresses are perfect for a day out with the girls.
I have read time and time again about capsule wardrobe examples that don't incorporate work wear, so I wanted to make sure to include pieces that are perfect for a creative work environment requiring some polish. Beautiful blouses and flattering peplums can be worn with both skirts and pants. Consider new ways to wear your favorite shirts. Think you can't wear your favorite peplum with a full midi skirt? Tuck it in and through a wide belt over your waist.
Who says bottoms must be boring? Mix it up with different shapes, lengths, and prints and your Spring wardrobe will look and feel as fresh as the newly budding flowers. Athleisure wear is still having a huge moment. Try mixing more casual pants with a fancier top and feminine shoe to see whether you love the look.
Shoes, shoes, and more shoes. I used to think 9 shoes for 3 months was not a lot, but the reality is this just happens naturally for me! Make sure to include shoes for work, nights out, days on the town, and laid-back laziness.
